Our country is a agricultural country & mostly people connected with agricultural. Rs 341 billion announced by Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for the small growers across the country.
Punjab government allocated Rs five billion to provide 25,000 Green Tractors at the subsidized price of 25 per cent from the market price in the last budget. In this way Farmers in the Pakistan would have less financial burden and more money to spend on the crops. The Punjab government previous years had also announced this scheme to a great benefit of the farmers, while scheme also gave a big boost to the local spare parts and assemblage industry. 100 % merit applied on this scheme, only those farmers get tractor from this scheme who are eligible.
The Punjab government has decided to re-launch the ‘Green Tractor Scheme’ to boost the agricultural production in the province. This year the provincial government has also allocated quota of tractors for each district on population basis, the sources said and added that Lahore district has been allocated 799 tractors against which, the department has received 1,700 applications. Similarly against 222 tractors allocated for Gujranwala, the department has only received 10 applications. The government has included the scheme in the non-development projects for the next fiscal year. In the previous ‘Green Tractor’ schemes, the government had provided a 50 percent subsidy, but this time the subsidy will be reduced to 25 percent, the sources said. The tractors will be provided through a lucky draw.
